I’m a Commercial Talent Agent at one of the largest and most prestigious talent agencies in Los Angeles, where we represent many of the actors you see in commercials (and in other departments, tv and film). I’m here to discuss the “business” of acting in a way that we agents don’t usually discuss as candidly (or at least, as “on the record”) when you know who we are… Hence, “Secret Agent”.
Here’s what I don’t accept here: submissions, sponsors, advertising, etc. This is a public service with a goal to better educate both working and aspiring actors….because I like you, I really like you! To that aim, I may mention schools or photographers I respect, but like ALL agents licensed in the State of California, I am not affiliated with any.
This also is written by ONE agent, so of course, I don’t speak for everyone. And while we’re at it, I encourage actors to pause when ANYONE that tells them they know “everything” about the business or has “all the answers” for you. Ours is a business made up of many, varied experiences….as seen through the eyes of people with many, varied points of view.
